An MME aka, Mass Mortality Event of wildlife is what happens sometimes when the balance of nature is off. And today we live in a time when the earth is greatly out of balance, in a metaphorical sense of the word. Moving forward, with hope and optimism, the average guy or gal living today, is more aware of the changes taking place than you can imagine. People are waking up to the call as foolish earthman's buildings fall. But it is not a hopeless situation. We can reverse this trend of Business as Usual where profits outweigh the value of human existence. When the insects start to disappear, it's a wake up call for all of us to take action to Make Earth GREAT AGAIN. When this sort of phenomenon takes place we often think of it as a freak event of nature, well, you are right on the mark. It is indeed a freak event of nature, but it is not entirely natural. Man is both a natural living creature of this planet, but also many different types of man-made marvels helped contribute to the eventual rise in temperatures since the middle of the 1700's at the dawn of the Industrial Revolution and along with the farmer's ability to grow and store grain, civilization is based on the ability to remain living in one place for a long time from being able to store grains such as wheat, rice and corn and even today these food grains are a big part of the food supply for both humans and livestock. So it is paramount that we as the most intelligent species on the planet Earth, to show what we, in our brilliance are able to do to undo what is happening and by whatever means our current technology can manage to do. It will take the efforts of and the motivation of the entire planet to save the planet and make this world a place we can all be proud of. Gone were the days of throwing out that old get bag. Time to start looking for ways to clean up our act and yes, we are way behind in this. For no other reason than to have some respect for the world you and I share, pick up the trash and put it in a garbage can. That would be a good start, don't you agree? Less mess for others to have to pick up after you. The earth is not a garbage can. The earth is our island in the cosmos and there are no other islands within reach of our ships to reach so better start thinking about making some changes ASAP. Below is an article from The Guardian online you will find interesting reading.
Scientists are alarmed by a rise in mass mortality events – when species die in their thousands. Is it all down to climate change?

When we find a cure for greed and selfishness, we will save ourselves.

I've always thought that if each individual did their part responsibly, we could make a difference in turning the planet around . . . but it seems like people don't think their individual parts can make such a difference. I have read in the past few years of this mass extinction of species - very alarming!

To give up is to admit defeat. To die trying is more noble than to live with the guilt of not doing a thing about it. Yes it should be very alarming but still people are living in complete disbelief and sleeping without having any dreams of better days ahead. I still sleep well at night. I have a feeling others suffer from insomnia for being worried about things. Talking about things is much better than keeping it all bottled up inside.
