A really good and very bad trip to Portland

We had two reasons to make the 100 mile drive to Portland yesterday. One was to get free stainless steel replacement parts for the propane grill Anne bought in 2003 from Northwest Natural Gas. It came with a cast iron burner and grill rack and was still under warranty (unbelievable). The other reason was to pick up my daughter's Chihuahua for short stay with us while she goes to a company retreat at a nearby resort. That was easy too. But, when we started to go out to dinner, I discovered that my wallet was missing, credit and debit cards, driver's license, a twenty dollar bill, photos, insurance cards, Medicare card and who know what else? We stopped by the bank on the way home to cancel debit cards and I have been on the phone taking care of many other places I must notify, getting a new insurance card, credit card, etc. But, we made the 200 mile round trip safely and have little four pound two year old dog to play with, along with the new grill parts, so I guess all is well really..

I'm so sorry you lost your wallet, it's a shame people don't return lost items when they find them ..... of course I am assuming your wallet wasn't stolen. On the bright side, you now have a cute lil chihuahua to play with and maybe you'll treat us to a picture of her (hint hint)

It slipped out of my pocket I think and was "found" by someone.

Well, I was sitting on a couch in a fabric store reading for a few minutes and I think it slipped out of my pocket there. We called twice, no luck.

She was there last night when I noticed it missing, so we looked everywhere in her house.

I am so sorry James. It is such an annoyance to lose the wallet, the money is surely a problem, but more than that all the documents.

@JamesHxstatic I know, you have to block all the cards and ask for replacement of the documents, it is a pain.

I lost my wallet once on the trip and got puzzled. But some very nice person who found it in the hotel returned it to reception and they handed over it to me..I was thankful to them..

Hope you will get to the culprit. Yes. When a pet is around problems just disappear.

It's such a hassle when something like that happens. You just hope you can get everything cancelled before someone finds your stuff.

This is such a nuisance and such a rigmarole to go through cancelling cards etc. Hopefully the little dog will distract you from your worries.
