I remember when I was in high school, there was computer class, and I did learn typing in one semester. I still remember the program was called Typing Tutor. I didn't have computer at home and hence I actually didn't practice much. I really improved my typing skill when I was in college. I had my first computer and I was busy chatting with others using either mIRC, ICQ or later messengers, and that's how I became better at typing. I just found a free typing program called Typing Club. I took a look at the intro, it looks good. Perhaps I will follow the lessons and learn how to type, and most importantly, I think it's good for my eldest son to learn. He doesn't use computer much and he is using one finger to type now. I think he will enjoy taking the typing lessons. If you are interested, you can take some typing lessons here too:
Learn touch typing online using TypingClub's free typing courses. It includes 650 typing games, typing tests and videos.

Yes, long time ago I went to the typing class to learn it although at that time I was a student only. Later there is an internet and computer, at that time the chatting software was popular. And therefore I learned how to type fast because of chatting.

I didn't really use the home computer for much of anything except printing pictures and things from a disney art collection. Then when my mom got the internet, I was self taught for typing without looking at the keys. I know I don't type "correctly" since I don't use all the correct fingers but I can type with ease!

I'll never be up to secretary standard in my typing. Ive taken classes but I can't get the gist of it. I don't have very good finger/hand/eye coordination for typing. I get what I need to do done, but I am the one finger wonder in doing it.
