There are a few who fail to live...RIP Shibham

He was an Indian myLotter. We interacted some. I don't think more than 50 comments exchanged between us. I feel ashamed that I did not go beyond. Today, I was told by a foreigner @Carmelanirel2 that he was no more. He committed suicide. Highly educated man, with a beautiful child...why? Regrets? Of course! I wish I had drawn him more into conversation. I wish there had been some fun exchanges with him. That might have prompted him to come here ... instead of taking the extreme step. Somebody wrote on his page...problems are temporary....how true. Giving up is not the answer. Seeking solutions is. Do not give up..do not give in...while we may not be able to solve the problem, we will be able to help pass that dreadful moment or moments ...which make life seem so bleak and undesirable. I have had those moments so I am speaking from experience. Dear myLotters...we have each other...never forget that...it just requires an hour's interaction to escape such pain. If only we had some fun moments...that could have brought him here...

I am not sure if I interacted with him. But still it is sad to hear this. It even happens to those who seem to have it all - but depression does not discriminate - anyone could be going through this - even silently. I feel sad for the young family he leaves behind. May he rest in peace.

Hi @much2say I interacted with him in the beginning of me taking college classes and then we stopped. I knew there were problems in the family, now I wish I had kept in touch more often.

@vandana7 I understand! I don't remember him but I have a poor memory. I checked his activity and he hasn't been here for a few years.

That is so sad. I know who he is and I sometimes talked to him the past. I am wondering if he had a depression and didn't get help in time.

In our country seeking help for depression is looked down upon. There are very few psychiatrists out here.

@vandana7 The way that people look at depression is very different from country to country. In my country we have 'free' psychiatric treatment, but there are very few psychiatrists. Sometimes people have to wait more than a year before they get their first appointment.

A question though, why did you have to call @Carmelanirel2 foreigner? I never really thought of calling some one like that being here for a while. Even with newbies I don't categories them in anyway, just saying. He should stayed here and vent out everything! Because that's what I am doing. At least now I am going to be more active here instead of keeping it all to myself. Maybe he didn't know that mylot came back and starts paying again?

I meant person other than an Indian. True....it is not nice...but at that I was so overwhelmed with the thought. Yes, this is one place to vent out feelings and feel relieved. Keeping to self never helps.

Yeah...sort of..but we should each tell ourselves...we have friends who care, and are there for us without expecting anything. They have sense of humor and can make us smile even in this moment.

Due to bad internet connection I was not here for a week and I am so sorry to know about this bad news. He was no longer active here after his marriage. I remember he posted about his problems after marriage then remain inactive. In fact I was in touch with him through phone once then he sent me some mails as well. He told me about his baby and what I felt he was happy with family life. Then no communication between us and I have no news about him as well. Earlier I had seen his profile in whatsapp then later I lost all contacts from phone so lost his number too. I am really shocked to know his immature act on ending his life.

@arthurchappell True...and it is not as if we held a solution to his problem. All we held was a few moments away from the problem so that he could revisit them with fresh mind and feel they are just that and will go away.

@vandana7 I am so sorry Vanny. I did not know that about you. I can not speak for your mother but what I can tell you is that people can do things we never even dreamed of when we are just so low and broken. I feel like I can guarantee you that what your mother did was not because she didn't love you with all her heart. Sometimes the demons that we battle with in our minds just become way too much to deal with. And not to mention that some people feel like their presence isn't enough for their loved ones. So what you feel can be reversed to the one who doesn't want to be here anymore. It's usually the other way around when people are in that depressed state. They can view themselves as not worthy of living. It's a dark place to be. I wish I could say something better to help you. I'm just very sorry that this has happened in your life.

You can't blame yourself for not talking to him enough. People that are loved by many and interact with a lot of people kill themselves all the time.

That is very sweet of you to say April. But somewhere we feel ..I ignored him right? I interacted more with this group. And may be that made him feel left out..unwanted. Today I am filled with that kind of feeling.

He seemed to be having problems in his married life. I don't really know...and since we don't know the internal issues we can't say who was right and who was wrong. I guess both were wrong to an extent.
