Yes, that is true. There is Community known as Dawoodi Bohras which has about 73000 households in India has many more households in the World.
Under the guidance of one Mr.Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin a common Kitchen was started 2015 in every city of India where this Community lives.
His motto was that no Bohra anywhere in the World should be starved and go to bed with a hungry stomach.
This Kitchen runs on the voluntary donation by the members and it supplies one time meals to every Bohra family without charging anything.
They give same food to poor and rich of the Community in same amount every day. The quality of the food is very good and it is nutritious.
Today after the demise of the leader his successor, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin is continuing this project because of which this has become a Global Project now.
He feels happy to state that by doing such thing they are not only providing free meals to Bohra families one time, across the globe but also giving rest to woman from cooking and giving them opportunity to learn other skills in the life!
What is your opinion about this concept? I think if every community in this World think on this lines then World would be a nice place to live!
Please Respond! Your response will be highly appreciated as usually! Thanks!

That is true. But this can only be undertaken in small groups. So we need to have such common kitchen where they are desperately required. I would like to mention here that here people are not poor and unemployed, they are all into very nice businesses , they are industrious people. Despite getting free food they still work hard as they used to do before! Thanks!

Its the funniest thing how people expect people to be productive members of society starving. You know here in certain areas of the country it is illegal to give food to the homeless. I believe in Florida a religious group was asked to disperse and believe a pastor was arrested for giving out food to the homeless in public a couple of years back. How sad is that? So its neat what these guys are doing and glad his friend is carrying the torch forward so to speak. I hope it spreads to more places that really need it.

That way we have many charitable and religious people and places where food is freely distributed to the needy, that is different thing! But here this concept is really nice one as this is not only helping a particular community to survive in a healthy way but they are also given opportunity to utilize the time which otherwise they would have wasted in Kitchen, in a fruitful manner. The woman in this community are learning new skills and also getting educated during this free time!

@crossbones27 , Yes, I agree with you in the name of Charities many persons are cheating the common people and becoming rich for themselves in the name of poor! I think this has become a Global phenomenon! Which is very unfortunate thing!

@AKRao24 That is how it should be, allowing people to work and learn a skill, maybe passion or purpose at the same time. Then you would not need charities and religious organizations to be donating to the poor and homeless. Would only need charities for research for diseases and natural disasters, but sad to say many people become rich off of charities these days and just another scheme many made to profit off the poor. Do not get me wrong some are very good, but at the same time more and more charities are popping up as a scam.

I read something about this not too long ago. It is a great idea. I do wish more communities around the world would do it.

As a human being and a Sikh as well, I am very glad that this has been going on. People and initiatives like this gives me a moment of warmth, peace, pride, and hope that humanity still survives and is fighting.

I heard it for first time. It is a great concept. The one who initiated it is not only helping the community but also maintaining love and peace among people. It's a very kind and generous of him. He also thought of the women, that is good. They can also do something in life.
I think government should learn from him.

@anamika161088 , Yes, agreed, But you know the Dawoodi Bohras are rich people who are involved in business! They come to rescue of any member if they incur loss in the business!

@AKRao24 Steps taken on small scale at personal or community level can be very helpful to those who are living below poverty line and for those who are working very very hard to survive.

Yes, he remains as a role model for many people around the World. In fact the Bohra Community is a hardworking, honest and industrious community and they are mainly into the business. In case some one incurs loss in the business then the person is helped out by other community members to get his business back on the track.

In Langars, you need to go there to have your food! There any body can go and have the food! But here in this case the food is being supplied to the door step regularly between 8.00am and 9.00 am to every family living in the community in a City. This is practiced all over the World where these people they live!
