Whew, it got hot again

She wants to catch that birdie outside the window. I took this July 17, 2018

Yeah, it's 4:41pm which is just about the hottest time of day and the NOAA has it at 105(f) with 11% humidity. It is even cloudy out there so no telling if maybe just maybe it will give a few drops of rain. I did a rain dance the other day so maybe it'll pay off. Look at Boobear, she was watching a bird getting berries from the creeping virginia vine which grows outside my bedroom window. The vine isn't really doing all that well but it doesn't want to die and I'm doing all I can to help it.

Pretty girl. Its cold here- maybe 90. The nasty part is the wind that refuses to quit gusting.

Thanks, she is a cutie. Funny that only a couple days ago it was 91. HA. The wind is always kickin up here, I'm used to it and tend to forget about it unless it gets really high like about 30mph.

Oh no, not again @sallypup I can't believe there's anything left to burn up there. When we get the 30mph it's usually not gusts, it pretty much blows that hard for hours, I really hate it. It's been mild here lately but then our windy season is usually from March through May.

@rebelann 30 mph is what we get for gusts and often higher. There's a fire going on toward the mountains again.

We did get some rain but it wasn't all that cooling, I've actually had to deal with mild muggieness because the humidity rose to over 30% for a few days and the temps were around 97(f) or so. I am curious, does Australia use Fahrenheit?

Oh good @JudyEv I do try to look up what I can in the metric or centigrade system but it's much easier if I can just stick with what I know.

@rebelann No, we swapped back in the 1960s I think so I grew up with Fahrenheit and the Imperial system - feet and inches, pounds and ounces, etc then had to learn the new metric and Centigrade system.

Yesterday (Saturday) it started raining in the late afternoon and rained all night long. We even had a flash flood warning that lasted several hours. Today it is so humid outside. I think I hear thunder in the distance. We might be getting more rain.

It was in the high 70s today, just glorious. We had a big rain Tuesday and our pool is almost overflowing. This is my idea of perfect summer weather

I know how you feel, it was 108 up here today and right now at 8 pm it is still 105 with 22% humidity, ugh feels like a sauna when you walk outside. I may not be walking tonight, I need to get one of those little hand held fans with the spritzer bottle on it for my walks. She is wishing she could be out there to get that little birdie!

@rebelann Haha, I would love it here, all the kids took their jackets with them because they were all born in CO so they know how the weather gets there.

I would imagine it is actually hotter where you are due to the humidity. Generally the humidity here is low on hot days.

It's very hot here lately too, as it hasn't been raining for days, and there are lots of mosquitoes looking for food (blood).... Hope you'll get rain there.

I hate mosquitoes. Have you tried putting vinegar in a spray bottle then simply spraying around yourself to keep those stupid blood suckers away? Of course it doesn't smell very good but it beats being eaten. I do not think we will get much more rain here, it is back in the upper 30s and low 40s(c) here and thankfully the humidity is low.

Thank you, I hope it does too. Yeah, it is hot but it could be worse. Parts of AZ get up to 120(f) at times and honestly I hope we don't go that high.
