I once hooked up with a guy. We became very good friends and became so attached. I thought I had found my soulmate, my Mr. Right. My knight in shining armor had finally arrived and I was looking forward to starting a serious relationship with him. He also had the same feelings as me because he later confessed to have wanted that. That same year, my dad came home one day and announced that our family elders had sat up and decided that we should be meeting annually. That did not post a problem, I needed to know all my relatives too. On the day of the meeting, my heart was beating with joy since I was meeting people of my blood and origin. Some I knew them well but many others were brand new faces. I even imagined of how all this people will be invited to my wedding with my prince charming. My good thoughts and imaginations fade away when dad introduced us to his brother who had lived abroad since time immemorial and we had never met him. Guess what, he was my prince charming's dad and he was standing between his dad and mum. He stood there, perplexed with the realisation that we are cousins. I have never felt that disappointed in life before, but the family meeting was a blessing in disguise. It saved us the frustration of feeling guilty of incest.
