Which is good for heart-walking or jogging?

Our doctor has prescribed my dad to go for walks in the evening to keep his heart healthy. But, in most of the blogs, it's written that jogging is more effective for a good heart. Which one do you practice.

Walks are good. Jogging is better but only if your body can handle it

i think with older people, walking is better and easier. especially if they're starting to have problems with their joints like knees, hips. also, your father's doctor knows his health history better so there must be a reasony why he prescribed walking, and not jogging. even blogs or medical sites give a disclaimer that "one size does not fit all," and that readers should consult with their own doctors.

It depends on ones health. Some obese or healthy patients are only advises walking becausw of the joint conditions or maybe because of the pulse rate. Jogging is not for everyone.

Walking! Jogging/running can be kinda stressful on the heart, on the whole body, in fact. Walking is probably the best exercise out there. And....it's F-R-E-E. Jogging can cause cortisol levels to rise, and that's a significant indicator of stress on the body. Your dad's health will improve with walking alone. Brisk walking if he wants to make it more cardio.

One should consider the health issues and age while choosing excercise. I suggest walking.. because it's effective and suits for all

I think walking fast is already good enough. Jogging is not suitable for everybody.

Do you practice brisk walking? If not, try to do it for your heart's health.
