Does anyone remember this movie?

Back in the 70s when I was a kid, this movie was shown a lot on the TV. The main channel that showed movies was TBS. When I first saw it, I liked the idea of the story, but after watching it, I didn't really like it much. I thought it was peculiar. The legendary actor Charlton Heston stars in it. It is called "The Omega Man".
There is some kind of nuclear event that kills practically the whole human race. A guy thinks he is the only one alive, but there are a few others he meets. They have to fight off zombie type creatures.
It reminds me of today's "Walking Dead" series.

I think of the movie as a "B" movie, not a first rate movie.

great film, based on the novel I Am Legend by Richard Matheson, film versions with Vincent Price and Will Smith were also made.The Vincent Price is closest to the book. I hated the Will Smith version.

@LeaPea2417 I remember that also Soilent Green was pretty scary. Those movies make you think.

I have seen "The Omega Man" from 1971. This is another screen version of Richard Matheson's novel "I Am Legend." There were also Vincent Price in "The Last Man on Earth" in 1964 and Will Smith in "I am Legend" in 2007.
