My Website Got Hacked!

So, I was having problems with Instagram and didn't know why. I thought it was a glitch, so I uninstalled and reinstalled Instagram. It still didn't work. It said a link in my bio was spam, but I knew that couldn't be because it was my personal site. Well, after checking, my site was a spam site! I freaked out! I went straight to bluehost (my domain host) and went to contact support. I couldn't believe that I could live chat at 1 am with tech support! She fixed it and my website is back up. So excited. I would have been so upset if all of my files were gone. I have worked really hard on my blog. Have you ever had a website hacked? It scared me. I panicked.

@cpefley It can be kind of scary. Thankfully, it didn't take as long as it could have.

@dodo19 True, but it keeps happening. They wanted $70 a month for security! That's ridiculous. I hate Bluehost. Never had a problem with SiteGround. I installed a plug in on WordPress where I can fix it manually, but I don't know how to stop it from happening.

Thanks. I am glad it is fixed too. I was so worried that I would have to spend a lot of time fixing it.

Thanks! Now I just have to work on it and get more content. I'm hoping that one day that will be my full time income.

Wow, that had to really leave a sinking feeling in your belly when you discovered what had happened. Luckily, you were able to get it fixed. I don't have a personal website, so I have never experienced something like that. But I can imagine how frustrating it could be.

Yeah, it is awful. I am over having them try fixing it and am working on doing it myself. It is expensive to pay for the security.
