A seven year old Labrador Retriever named Frida and her handler Israel Arauz received the highest honor that they earned by having a statue made of bronze in Puebla City Mexico on Thursday. Frida was credited with assisting the Mexican rescue teams find at least 12 people that were trapped in the rubble in Mexico City last September 19, 2017 which rubbed out at least at almost 400 people. Frida is still on active duty until she reaches an age where she will be retired so the next generation of rescue dogs can take her place.

They really deserved it since they risked their lives without any expectation of any reward.

Dogs and other animals have their statues made when there is merit. In my country there is a statue of the horse Huaso, The horse broke the international record of high jump in 1949. The record has not been achieved by any other horse in the world.

Thank you for sharing this information. The only statue of a dog that I know of was based on the movie named "Balto" which is based on a true story where a group of dogs traveled the state of Alaska to get a medicine to the people in that state that were sick due to the cold weather. One of the children who survived her health problem took her granddaughter to New York City to thank the statue of Balto for his heroic act.
