90 Something degrees outside and our air conditioner is not working

I can take the cold in the far north in the winter and I can take any rainy day, they never bothered be but being without an air conditioner is the pits. We have been having a very hot summer with very high pollen counts. I live on my allergy pills and usually stay inside after I water my gardens.
We had the air conditioner service man here for hours today and he still does not know what is wrong. We had the same problem last year and ended up getting a new one put in. We now have two big fans on full time along with the ceiling fan. It is still over 80 degrees.
Give me the winter cold in the northeast where I should have stayed.

Nobody should ever have to be without air conditioning in Florida in the summer time. To me that's cruel and unusual punishment. I think A/C is a right not a privilege, and should be subsidized by the state government! lol

@ramapo17 Being a southerner, I used to think that people who lived up north could just put on an extra jacket or cover up with an extra blanket. I never understood why so many people complained about the cold. Then, one winter, I visited a friend in the mountains of western Virginia, and while I was there they had a freak blizzard. It was my first time experiencing true cold. After that experience, I totally understood the phrase "chilled to the bone." No matter how hard I tried, I could not warm my bones up! It gave me an entirely new perspective on what people up north go through during the winter.

When summer is too hot, I also miss the cold weather in winter. I prefer the cold to the heat.

Hope it is figured out soon. You should not need a new one every year.

@ramapo17 Not as bad humidity as you get there. Pollen for allergies, yes. Our heat is desert heat which is like standing in a blast furnace.

Wow! No AC in Florida during summertime would even worry the Devil. Time for a cold shower or ice bath

It's starting to heat up after weeks of rain. I prefer the good balance weather not much sun or rain.

I am from NYC. Temps here are not like in some states where it's way over 100 degrees. But for me it is still not good. My ideal temps are in the 60s, maybe low to mid 70s. 80s or higher is exhausting for me, especially when there is very high humidity and the sun out.
I hope you can fix your AC. Nothing worse that being inside to escape the outside heat when it's bad inside as well.

We do have the warranty and the man was here many hours yesterday trying to find the problem. He came back this morning and found the problem and now has something on order to fix it. He did get it fixed temporarily so at least the heat is going down.
