That fall and the stitches will likely cost me a commercial job

Eugene, Oregon

On Friday afternoon, while I was nursing my banged up head and knees, I got an email from a casting director in Portland I have worked with before. He was inviting me to be part of a commercial shoot this Thursday. It is a good one, half a day and the pay is $150. I said that I am available, but mentioned the stitches. The time and place was not disclosed (never is until the last minute). I have heard nothing back from him yet. The one interesting thing is that the commercial is for a hospital, so I might fit right in. I do doubt that will happen though, as it is supposed to be a spirited upbeat shoot.

@JamesHxstatic - Oh, James, that is too bad. You would think they could have used you as a patient!

Well, the client chose fewer than expected and I was not one of them, but there are even better things coming soon. I submitted for a good one today too and the stitches come out probably Tuesday.

Hope you get the call back and the part. Sounds like an easy $150 from what you said.

Thank you, but I did find out that the client did not use as many people as expected, so it was not too bad. I am feeling well and the stitches come out Tuesday. There are more extras jobs coming. Portland seems to be a really popular place for filming.

@JamesHxstatic I think it is a good thing not to take part in the commercial shoot, you can nurse your injuries at the moment.

Thank you, but the last I heard, the client had chosen some, not as many as the casting director had expected. There are more opportunities coming and my stitches should come out next week.

@LovingMyBabies, it turned out that the client chose a lot fewer people than the casting guy expected. I was not one of them, but submitted for an even better job and the stitches will come out on Tuesday. There is more coming soon I heard too.

@Shavkat Thank you, but it is not happening. The cllient chose far fewer people than the casting director thought they would. I submitted for an even better one today though and the stitches come out by Tuesday.

Well thats too bad, maybe there is still time for him to call, don't give up hope. Maybe they could cover it all up with some makeup so no one will know.

The stitches have to be in for ten days, but as it turned out, the client chose fewer people than expected and I was not included, so it is okay. The casting director says there is a movie coming up with a lot jobs.

that's was also my first thought when you wrote about your fall, how it could affect future acting jobs had it been your nose or teeth. you were honest enough to mention it upfront, but surely it could have been covered by makeup?
