So, out on my travels yesterday, I passed by this doughnut shop, that someone I met during a focus group told me about. Apparently there was something about their Creme Brulee doughnuts he found outstanding. I love Creme Brulee so I decided to try them. Anyway, I saw 3 doughnuts I wanted to get,,and it rang up for 820..say what?? That would be the day I would pay over 8 dollars for 3 doughnuts. Plus they had a thing in their register for tips..for counter help in a doughnut place,,where it takes them one minute to give you your order... I said I will take one of the doughnuts..then he said well we are about to close so I will give you two. Friend was with me so I gave him one..we both agreed they were not that fantastic. I will not be visiting that shop again. When is the last time you had sticker shock?

When I went for the fried chicken one night. The man thought I was asking for shrimp and lobster. I looked at him and said give me what $5 gets me. He said those magic words I am sure you like too. He said we are closing in a little while you can have what we have left. I took it home and trust me. The chicken was well worth more than $5. But I was not going over my budget.

Yes, it is nice when they do that..one time in a mall we were walking by Aunt Anne/s and since they were getting ready to close they started handing out left over pretzels.

@snowy22315 Once my sister and i were having lunch at Sam's Club (I get a hot dog and a soft pretzel. I get nacho sauce to dip it. This one time the store has so many in a shipment that could not possibly sell it by the expiration date. He gave us the one my sister was buying that day for free. The man then handed us five more packages of it FREE as he was instructed to do by his boss. Used it on hot dogs and soft pretzels i buy frozen

At those prices, those donuts should have been caviar filled.

I wanted a large rattan basket for my laundry room. The price for an averaged size basket was around $25 online. Found a beauty at Goodwill for $1.99.

@Corbin5 lol, well that can be a good thing, you did get a great value though, around here the Goodwill is more like a regular store than a thriftshop. The prices are not very good. The good thriftstores are the ones run by the churches, although one of them has very strange hours.

This is a lot for a donuts. Two weeks ago I paid $3 for a small espresso coffee in the center of Milan, it's just one little cup, you have no refills in Italy.

@snowy22315 I will never go back there again, even if the espresso was really good. Starbucks is going to open at the end of the year, not far from that place, I could try and compare.

I do not recall but I am with you, no doughnut is worth $2.50. Tips? The cashiers make min. wage and that is what now? $8 or did it rise to a ridiculous $15 per hour?

Honestly, I never felt so ripped off in my life..I was bound and determined to try the doughnut though..so I did end up buying it..it was nice of him to give me two..but I was not going to tip for a ridiculous thing like giving me two overpriced doughnuts!
