How long are your working hours?

A teacher's work is never done, so it's hard to say! I teach music, so I have to teach not only during the school day but also before and after school for special ensembles (in my case, Chamber Singers and Flute Ensemble) and after school I teach private lessons (yes, it's in my contract). So I start at 7:20 and finish teaching at 4:30 or 4:40, and usually I don't leave for home until 5:00 or later. It's summer break now, so I find it hard to be motivated to do anything. I am resting up for next school year. But today, I am on my school computer and am going to do some lesson planning. What are your working hours like?

8.5 hrs from Monday to Friday. My parents were both teachers, I'm very aware of the struggles of teachers in terms of lesson planning.

My parents were both teachers too, and brought a lot of their grading home. I practiced piano while they did grading.

Although my working hour is supposed to be at 9am-5:30pm, but actually sometimes I also work at night. In fact I am a little surprised you teach music. As at first I thought you taught English

That sounds like a cool and rewarding job. My shift is 10 hours but more realistically lately 12 hours with overtime.

Lately, I usually work at least 10 hours every day. Since it is summer vacation, I am loaded with online students. I need to grab the chance while it is still hot.

Caregiver 24/7, Landlady two weeks a month unless doing repair or preparing for a new tenant then it can be weeks or months of work. I am opening up my own store soon, I will announce what, where and all that in a few weeks.

So you work over 100% of your time. I hope you can sleep sometime. I have a friend who helps doing landlord duties and it's pretty scattered, especially since she lives two hours from the places she helps manage. The official landlord lives closer.

Being retired I don't have working hours any more. I used to work 8.30am to 4,30am with about a 40 minute drive each way. I had a few piano pupils most afternoons after I got home so my days were pretty full.
