Not so hot today!

It has been scathingly hot (for Japan) for the past week. It got over 40C, which it almost never does. We have air conditioning in individual rooms but not in our hallways, bathrooms, etc., so unless you have everything you need in one room you have to get heated up. It's absolutely exhausting. A lot of people (including me) go to department stores and malls, where it is all air conditioned, take reading material and stay for several hours!
But today I didn't even have to turn on the aircon. The weather says it will not go above 28C today. I think it was a little hotter after the sun hit the house, but it is still very relaxing. I think I might ride my bike down the hill to my friend's Indian restaurant and have some hot curry tonight. I've been wanting to go but it has been way too hot to even think about it!
What do you do to keep cool?

I was surprised to know that Japan too experience this high temperature readings. I always thought Japan to be a cold climate country and never imagined it to be hot like you described as having 40C. But I guess its summer season in your country that is why you are experiencing that heat wave.

Actually it gets very hot and humid from mid-July through September, but usually it stays below 40c. We have cool winters in Tokyo, going down to 0, but usually around 4-10 in winter months. Up north in Hokkaido and Aomori they get lots of snow and it's not so hot for them right now.

@petatonicsca Aww that is something I would like to experience the winter since we do not have that in my place. I hope I could someday visit your beautiful country. I am impressed with how you made japan one of the first world countries in the world.

I close up the house when it gets hot and perhaps turn a fan on. We have a/c too but tend not to use it unless the heat gets extreme.

I'm sorry it was so hot there! Thank God we have AC because I don't do well in the heat.

The highest temperature here today is 34 degrees centigrade. It is cooler than yesterday. I still stayed in the air conditioning room and didn't go out.

We use electric fans because the heat is still manageable in our place. But during sunny days,we need an air conditioner.

Wow they have Indian restaurants in Japon? That's cool and same here in New York it's super hot and I only have 1 air conditioner in 1 room so I try even avoid the kitchen . I eat in my room hahaha. Stay cool my friend
