The ceiling fans as savior

When I had gone to UK and US, I found washing machines with driers inbuilt into them. However this is not the norm in India. We hang out our clothes to dry on ropes or stands. You might think that we would face difficulties in drying in the rainy season! Yes we do. However, the ceiling fans comes to our aid. We hang clothes on chairs or other places under the ceiling fan and that helps them to dry. It looks a bit old style and old but it really helps in drying clothes.

We use washing machine with drier inbuilt in them. I don't like the smell of damp clothes. LOL

@vandana7 but such a washing machine would be costlier.

I donĀ“t have a dryer, but here it only rains in winter. So I hang my clothes in the covered terrace during the day and in the bathroom at night. The bathroom is warmer because I place a heater in part of the day.

We also do it in our country. Even if I dried the clothes at the washing machine, I still hang them under the sun to make it smell so fresh and clean! Fans also do the work.

This surely helps but creates humidity inside the house.

When I was a child, we didn't own a clothes dryer. We hung our clothing outside on stainless steel wires stretched between metal T poles. (I remember the dried clothes always smelled of sunshine and fresh air. I loved that smell!) Two years ago my clothes dryer quit working. Pretty and I dried our clothes by spreading them on the living room furniture overnight. We bought a new clothes dryer a couple of weeks after our old one quit working. Have you ever heard of a washing machine called a Wringer Washing Machine? That is what my mom used when I was a kid. (I hated carrying in buckets of water to fill it and then carrying the dirty water out after she was done washing clothes.)

Yes, standing fans or ceiling fans do help.
