Diary Wednesday 25th July 2018
A busy day today. I went to the community centre to job search, arriving early as I had to leave early for my welfare hearing. It was unusually busy atthe community centre IT suite today. A few latecomers ended up standing up, so they were glad when I left and my chair was free.
Welfare signing on went smoothly as my advisor didn't even check the job searches I have done the last few weeks and just booked my next appointment for in two weeks time.
I got home to find that my passport photos were rejected because I'm wearing my glasses. 1/. I always wear them. 2/. They are on my face in my last passport.
Diary Thursday 26th July 2018
Another job club visit, and it was mercifully quieter today as the heat wave returned, hotter than ever. I got new passport photos done and did a few other errands, before coming home to enjoy iced water with ice cubes I have kept in the fridge all day.

exactly. It means I'll have to take my glasses off to go through cutoms checks and then put them back on right away afterwards

@LadyDuck it is ludicrous. I wear mine so much I forget they are there a lot of the time - without them people actually say I look different and a passport is about looking like you do most of the time

@arthurchappell This is ridiculous, my husband needs his glasses to drive, of course he keeps his glasses on when we drive through the border, but he has no glasses on the ID. This is weird.

Wonder why they have started not letting people wear glasses in passport photos. Silly that seems. Well that will cost you to get more and I wonder why the place where you got them taken did not know this new rule.
It must be very hot there still Arthur. I was amazed to see the temp was 100.

Did you not read the passport instructions?! And even the booths have instructions on them reminding you that glasses must come off. Silly. Definitely an annoyance though.

Thanks for the song love it. Whenever I took passport photos they always told me to take my glasses off. Good luck with your job search.
