Yesterday I was a bit surprised when some one corrected me from what that mylotter thought to be a non-english comment. But I quickly replied and told that person the meaning for the word, which is an animal.
But later when I refresh the post, it was deleted. Why is that? no apology or just thanks for clearing that word up? Hope I didn't get that person upset when for accusing them of policing for mylot
But I felt really embarrassed being reminded again that mylot is an English site.
As if I haven't been writing here for the last ten years

They should do some research and reading first before commenting and correcting, some people have the habit of correcting just for the sake of correcting or to show they know more than others, that or they are simply plain stupid.

@Letranknight2015 I agree, I also correct people from time to time but in such a way that it would be beneficial to those who are reading and at the same time I wholeheartedly accept and even "like " when I am corrected provided the information being given is accurate, true and correct. Most of the time it's how we say it that's more important.

I don't mind people saying that. Because many people here are not English speaking countries. It is normal for us to make mistakes. Sometimes I make a mistake and I will delete the post.

What was the word? I am curious to know because at times, I tend to use Filipino word when replying to a comment by another Filipino myLotter. But sometimes I insert the English word for it so others can see the meaning.

Carabao is an English word. If it was just one word in question, why would someone make a big deal about it?
I remember a girl writing whole articles in French. When we told her English only, she just said it is international and posted more. She was gone before long.

Hello @akalinus she did that here? hahaha insane. Some people can ignorant. Well, it wasn't much of a big deal, I just told the person what the meaning of the word and it was infact english. Did that person come back? well, she probably doesn't realize that I'm also a veteran of the site

@Letranknight2015 I think it was here. Unless it was at ChatAbout. I remember several people warned her and she just posted more. I knew what carabao was when I saw it so I think it is English. English has many words borrowed from other languages.

It is the english word for an animal that is native to your own country. Why wouldn't you use it? The other person was in the wrong.

Some are taking the rules seriously, I know rules are rules but if it is just one word out of hundreds of English details, I just hope they'll consider it. Like saying Mabuhay!
