I smelled smoke!

So I was sitting here typing, and I smelled smoke! That smell makes me panic. There have been incidents that I may discuss at a later date.
Anyway, I went into the kitchen, and there was my 15 year old son, looking very guilty. He said, "What? The toaster oven needs to be cleaned, I guess."
He said the toaster oven started smoking and he had to make his pizza in the microwave. It is 3 am! Who makes pizza in the microwave at 3 am?

Good think he did not burn down the house. Not too long ago I opened the door to the porch and smelled smoke and could not figure out where it was coming from at that time I would not let my cat go on the porch. I did not want her getting sick. When I went to throw out the garbage the smell was gone and I let her out then. I still do not know where it came from.
