A homeless man who did not want to give out his name is being called a hero for diving into the Mississippi River on Saturday morning around 2:30 am when a lady who also did not want to give out her name attempted to end her life by jumping off of a bridge on Washington Avenue near downtown Minneapolis. The homeless man was underneath the bridge when he saw the lady land in the river. Maybe it was not the time for the lady to pass away from her leap from the bridge from the impact of hitting the water such a height. The Minneapolis Fire Department offered to take the homeless man to their headquarters for the evening but he turned the offer down. The University of Minnesota police reported the news that the lady who attempted to end her life was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated.

I hope she re-evaluates her life, and realizes it's not the answer. I'm glad the man saved her life. I'm sure it was quick thinking on his part.

Wow!! It was not her time for sure, and hope she can get some help she needs to where she will not want to consider doing this again. That man is definitely a Hero and it will all come back to him in time for his efforts.

That was quite a heroic act indeed for the homeless man to do. It just means that he was still sane and has a heart to save other lives and risk his own in the process. The police should have insisted to help him despite his refusal.

Just cause a man is homeless do not mean he does not have a heart of compassion for others.
