Do you know how to swim? I learned how to swim when I was 9 years old at the local YMCA with my sister. We completed different levels and by the time we finished, we could swim and it was a good feeling to know how. I have always liked to swim in pools and the ocean. These days, I hear too many shark bite stories, so I am not swimming in the ocean, but I do like to swim in swimming pools. I think everyone should learn to swim.

Yes I have been swimming since I was a baby. I also took proper swim lessons and progressed to life guard lessons in my teens. It is something I still love to do today. I love to get in clear water, not murky for sure, who knows what is lurking.

Yes I know how to swim and I'm a self-taught swimmer. I never had any formal class at all.

I bet if you got into water again today you could still do it. Swimming is like riding a bicycle, once you know how, you never forget.

@LeaPea2417 Very true but I have a lot to prioritize now, being a family man takes a lot of responsibility.

My brother and I took swimming at Rock Eagle when we were kids. I recall our step mom being very insistent on that. I still can not swim under water without goggles though. It's not a problem with opening my eyes. I'm just legit water blind

I learnt to swim pretty late in life but never took full laps. Preferred the children's pool. Somehow water and me never got along well (lol)

I learned how to swim at an early age, like before eight years of age. And I never feared being in the water as a small child because my parents introduced me to swimming in ponds and lakes at a rather young age, which I'm glad for.

No, I do not know how to swim. I have a sort of phobia of water. Not the bath tub, but a pool is already big enough to make me feel anxious.

My mother was a great swimmer and taught my brothers and I how to swim before we were 5. I love swimming in oceans without shark warnings up (lol) and private pools.

I like to swim in pools if it is surely clean; but I enjoy swimming on the sea at the shallow part of course. I learned to swim when I was a child at the river near us.

I learned to swim in college and loved it. I always liked water but knowing how to swim gives confidence. I have been a teaching assistant in swimming classes.

My dad taught me to swim when I was 8 years old. I started with the dog paddle but eventually learned other strokes. I think everyone should learn to swim.
