Hi, I iz Queen Kitty here. I iz 16 yrs old and I waz onliest kitty until one month ago. My hoomin took in a nother kitty an she is called Star. She thinks she is a star too. Her hoomins are gone for six months so my Hoomin said yes will take care of other kitty without asking Me. Star is very hissy. She hiss at me when I say nofink. I creepsy creepsy in to catch her and hoomin say "Jona! Be nice to visitor." I do not like dis kitty. I have to pounce and tell her she not belong. Hoomin does not understand this. Hoomin keep me away from Star kitty. Why is dis kitty in MY house? I am not a happy Queen Kitty. I wants to be the only Kitty in da house. --Jona

Queen Kitty needs to lay down the law on Star Kitty.

With a senior cat in the house, it can be difficult to take in another cat. However, if it is for just the six months perhaps they will get used to each other. Just let Queen Kitty know she is the queen and make sure she is not bothered too much by Star.

Right now they are living in different sections of the house as much as possible. I let them in the same room while I am there and for about 15 minutes they ignore each other. Then one of them starts to get upset and I separate them before it escalates, because I have neighbors and Star's yowls are very loud.

Do not be too upset, you are the oldest cat of the house and still the favorite. Try to accept Queen Kitty.

Poor Jona. Six months is a long time to have to share your space with some cat who thinks it's a star! And congratulations on being 16! That is a great age for a cat.
