Winter is coming... So?? Planning a vacation :P Would appreciate inputs.

I have been planning to visit a new country this winter, most probably December. Have shortlisted a few though: 1. Qatar - Currently my most favorite of the lot. Quite affordable flights. Not a very costly country as contrary to other gulf countries. Culturally diverse. You can find a significant Christian and Hindu population even though it is predominantly Muslim country. 2. Dubai - Now I have been here but the wife hasn't. So December would be the best time to take her to Dubai as Dubai Shopping Festival would be on. However as I have been there I am not that excited but can surely give it another go. 3. Mauritius - Cute little island in Africa in the Indian Ocean. A nice place to relax. Enjoy the beaches and just chill and be like a sloth. I won't mind that would I now? 4. Sri Lanka - Another island in the Indian Ocean. Completely different culture. Don't know what to expect but have heard good things about the place and the people. Would appreciate if any of my fellow mylotters can help me out here. Thanks
