I’ve written before about painted grain silos and here is another beauty which we saw in Tumby Bay in South Australia. The mural covers 2200 square metres and was painted by Argentinean artist Martin Ron over a period of five weeks.
The artist spent over a week in the town looking over historical photos for ideas. Then he saw local kids jumping off the jetty and decided he had foud his subject. The artwork was quite complex because of the horizontal nature of the image.
The town has a population of about 2,600. A roomy carpark has been set up near the silos to allow tourists in pull in off the highway and take photos in safety.

@JudyEv I haven't seen the other discussions. I can't catch up with all the discussions.

@jobelbojel I haven't written about all of them. It's impossible to keep up with everyone. You'd be here all day if you tried.

There are more in WA that we haven't seen yet but I'll be watching out for them.

It seems very well done. I have seen many a painted water tower here, but not sure if I have ever seen a painted silo.

It is a master piece with local colour.I think that It is no mean feat to draw such a large adornment picture on the silos.

Those really are attractive. They certainly make what would have been just plain silo into something very special.

We saw a lot of murals on buildings too but some are much better than others.

Very nicely done. You can see that some distance away.

Wow, that's really creative! And the subject was really nice. It really looks great from afar.

The artist did a great job with the mural. We just had an Argentinian artist come to our city and paint several murals on the sides of couple of our downtown buildings. The art murals have become quite an attraction, drawing more people into the downtown area to walk around and look at all the art.

The man who did this one, and several others in the district, is from Argentina.

The artist is so creative; it's a beautiful painting using those silos as canvas.

I'm sure the townsfolk are very pleased with his efforts.
