Business Permit

Philippines

I'm relief that she was force to deal with it because our tenants couldn't get their permits done with ours being done first. Sometimes I think she doesn't realize we also need permits to operate a business, even though it's not as hectic as the others. She asked some one to handle the legal papers. I knew it wasn't as easy as it seemed. I bet it's more expensive now, one of the tenants told me their process goes beyond 300$

If you are leasing your place especially for commercial purposes without a permit, you are doing it illegally.

Luckily, it's being take care of and I got the copy of these permits @toniganzon She wouldn't have taken it seriously unless it has affected her tenants.

@Letranknight2015 If it's just residential, it can easily be ignored by the local government, but if the use is for commercial purposes, then that's hard to be ignored.

That is every business's obligation, mine is around $377 per year so this year I only paid by quraters, wait your picture is DTI, that is trade name, a lot cheaper and only every 4 years as compared to the Mayor's or city permit.

@Letranknight2015 Mayor's permit is renewed yearly, you can pay it anually, semi-anually or quarterly, you will have to declare the nature of your business plus the floor area of the space where you operate, it goes up yearly. The Mayor's permit comes with the sanitary permit and the Bureau of fire protection permit wherin they would make necessary inspections of your premises.

@louievill I've seen it before and posted it every wall of my most of my tenants. What bothers me is that we don't have it. We do have fire extinguishers though.

Hello @louievill That's another problem I'm facing because I am the keeper of these important documents. But I don't have that kind of permit over here. I wonder how many years you get renewal from City or Mayor's permit.

That's already huge @andriaperry and I'm sure that's not the only tax you're paying.

I knew you never had to spend that much amount of money for a business permit.

Hello acelawrites I don't really know the entire process of it. Maybe it's time to educate myself in the net.

What kind of business has your tenant?

Things become complicated the moment it is no longer for simple residential rental. I heard of landlords (from the US) only found out by accident, that their rental properties have been used for making bad movies. Shocking, right?
