I'm off to Paris.......airport

What do you think of when somebody says they're going to Paris? Art museums, culture and architecture, romantic walks beside the river, a trip to Disneyland? Nope, I'm off to sit in a room without windows at the Paris Charles de Gaulle airport Novotel with a bunch of colleagues talking about products. We will hopefully manage a nice dinner tonight at another airport hotel, sit through a day of blah blah blah, and then fly home.

Sounds like a fairly efficient way to arrange a meeting. Paris will have to wait for another day.

Honestly you wouldn't want to be running around Paris in the heat of August.

I never liked the Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. I hope you can have at least a nice dinner. Good luck.

It's a heck of a maze and very stressful for people who don't know it well enough. Luckily I've been through often enough to know what to expect.

@boiboing I agree, it's not designed to be easy to use for those who do not know the airport.

@boiboing That’s my least favourite airport. I don’t think even the prospect of fine dining would compensate. My brother and family live near it so I have used it fairly often.

The dining wasn't so fine or so fast but the hotel was quirky and original. If you've never stayed in a Citizen M hotel, I do recommend giving them a go.

Doesn't sound like much fun sitting in an airport in Paris. Is this your first trip to Paris or have you visited and done the tourist thing?

No, I know Paris very well and I've done everything over the years.

That is not really a trip to Paris!

No, that's why I said it's a trip to Paris airport. But I've been to Paris too many times to count.

Oh... I think Paris is a great city to visit and there are so many wonderful museums there. It is so-called a romantic city, too. It seems boring that you can't stay there for a little bit longer for fun. Why not just arrange an online meeting and you can still blah blah blah together

Better have meetings in a tiny town in the former GDR, isn't it? :-)

@boiboing That's a valid argument, of course.

Paris is more accessible.
