Lunch With the Grandkids

Sometimes a spontaneous get-together is more fun than something that is planned well in advance.
Yesterday my middle daughter called and asked if I would be home today and as most of my week days go I'm home. She said she'd like to come for a visit and bring her two daughters and that my daughter in law would come along too with three of her boys. It's rare that I seen this part of the family since they live an hour away and our usual visits are on the weekends.
So, they are all coming for lunch and my oldest daughter will come over too and bring her son.
Unfortunately my youngest daughter had to work so she's going to miss out on all the fun.
I'm looking forward to our afternoon together and it will be fun for the kids as they haven't seen each other in awhile. While they play we girls can catch up and chat about all the things kids don't care about.
That's my news for this Wednesday! anything fun happening for you today?

I know you'll enjoy all your "babies"! I always do, too, but it just doesn't happen as often as I'd like.

That sounds so lovely! =) Nothing fun today but yesterday we made an unplanned trip to a friends house and it was great!

@Marilynda1225 I heard no fireworks and we had a terrible thunderstorm that started around 8 PM. It was a good thing they had canceled the celebrations.

Today we celebrate Emancipation Day - end of slavery in the former British colonies of the Caribbean. A special dinner is planned.

Pfff.. Yay, grandkids are coming!
Just kidding... It's just that i'm the youngest in the family and now all my brothers and sister come to us with all the kids and there is so much noise!
Right now the only thing that keeps me sane is some music in my earphones on full volume
I never thought a family dinner will be so noisy 
We had to make them every day now... Simply because we must have dinner that can feed 11 people.
But whatever... The more - The better.
It's noisy, annoying, take from you every bit of privacy... But in the end it's family

The older you get the more you appreciate family and the times together. Yes my grandkids can get very noisy but it brings life to my house and it's so quiet when they leave.

I totally agree with your first sentence, especially since most planned things don't seem to work out - due to others.
Sorry the youngest had to miss out, but so happy you got to hang out with everyone else!
