The following was received by us at our personal/business email on July 25, 2018: Dear Customer, During our usual security enhancement protocol, We observed multiple login attempt error while login in to your online (our bank's name) account. We have believed that someone other than you is trying to access your account for security reasons, We have temporarily suspend your account and your access to online and will be restricted if you fail to update, **Next there is a bright red bar we are to click on to give the information they want* We knew it was an attempt to get info from someone phishing. After calling our bank, we forwarded the email to them. If it were not for the errors noticed, someone might supply what was requested and soon find their account was emptied by a stranger.

I have had something similar in the past and we do need to be on the ball as criminals are very clever.

Glad you caught it in time. I have had strange things happening on my laptop not my desktop PC and one time it also said I had to give additional info. What I did was I deleted the mail and I just signed into my account and saw that everything was just fine.

@PatZAnthony Banks and companies who have been using the internet has been warning their clients about this. And they have been doing that for many years. In the case of PayPal they encourage users to forward such emails to them, which I did.

I have gotten those scams about both my banking and credit accounts and each time I call whichever institution then get the email they use to report scams. It's really frustrating that those kinds of scams can't be stopped.

@PatZAnthony I know a lady who lost her savings falling for a scammer. It is sad how they figure out how to catch people or how they try, sick and sad.

@PatZAnthony Some scammers like to use scare tactics like my computer will be taken down at midnight unless I give them info that is off limits to them.

Think of the millions lost by those who don't recognize what is fake @allen0187 We report these, but are sure the banks and credit cards already know what is going on without our help.

I get similar ones from Paypal all the time. I usually will just open another window and try to access the account they are telling me is compromised, then yes report it. It never does end.

Reporting is something we always do but are beginning to wonder why @BelleStarr It probably will not ever end and it is hard to understand why so many respond and get scammed.
