In your home, do you have wall to wall carpet or hard wood floors through out? We have had wall to wall carpet in the living room, dining room, hall and bed rooms for over 25 years. The kitchen, bathrooms have linoleum flooring and the sun room has ceramic tile. If we had the money, it would be nice to pull up the carpet and put hard wood floors in those rooms. Surprisingly, our carpet is still holding up after all these years.

All our floors are hardwood except for porcelain tiles in the foyer, kitchen, bathrooms, and new family room. We did put a runner up the stairs and covered the upstairs hall and bedrooms with carpeting for continuity and coziness. We also have area rugs. In Florida, we had porcelain tiles put in throughout the condo. Only the living room has an area rug.

I live in an apartment, and I have to be happy with what I get. However, I did persuade them to give me brand new carpet in my living room last year. I also have carpet in my bedroom. My front entry, bathroom, and kitchen have linoleum. They have the people brand new laminate wood floors, but they won't give it to me because I am on the top floor, and they think it would be too loud for the people who live under me. On that note, I do not understand why people have carpet in their bathroom. Unless they literally don't have a penny to their name.

That is nice that they gave you new carpet in your living room. And, I agree, I don't understand how anyone would have carpet in their bathroom. That would be so dirty and hard to clean. I did have a neighbor who years ago had wall to wall carpet in their bathroom. I wonder if they still have it.
