sometimes it takes me all day

Do you ever feel like it takes you several hours to write one post because you're constantly getting interrupted? That's how life has been for me lately, often to the point that I've barely posted anything all summer. It's definitely a frustration of mine. I think as busy as I've been, my house should be spotless and I should be all caught up with the laundry, but... Honestly, my house is a bit of a sty right now, even though there's been vacuuming, and dishwashing, and laundry sorting, and toilet scrubbing, and bread baking, and food cooking, and so many other things happening around here. Somehow there's still more to do. I know that old saying about how the work is never done, but seriously? It feels like the work is never done. I'm feeling guilty for even taking the time to post this right now, but I needed to get off of my feet for a few and there's no one climbing in my lap at the moment.

Yes I do understand, working 2 full time jobs I am always being called to do this or that and Tony asking for stuff, doing the garden and mowing and ....and.... you know!

That is so true and you have so much more to do because of family. I also think housework is a drudgery but I have to really force myself since I am on my own I tend to really let things slide so I can work online but once I get motivated then I clean things up so I do not have to do a repeat for at least a week.

A couple of the kids have not been on their best behavior either, and that's been frustrating. It's just one of those days, I think.

It is the first few minutes that are the hardest, once you are in the grove, it's okay.

The works explains very well the "perpetual motion", nothing is ever fully done, you have to start over again and again.

As soon as laundry is washed and put away, clothes are changed and put in the hamper, and then laundry needs to be done all over again.

It can be difficult to find time when you have so many things pulling you in all different directions

@spiderdust my daughter says the same thing. She is happy when school ends for the summer, doesn't ever seem to find time to get anything done and then is anxiously waiting for school to start again so she has time.

@Marilynda1225 Strangely, some of the kids are excited about school starting soon too. They miss their friends.

It is a never ending battle when you have children running around the house, try as you might but it will never be fully done till you have an empty nest. lol Take a break, it will still be there later!

@cintol At the very least, there will be a few hours each week where everyone is in school.

You know what I deal with with the cleaning, and it feels like I'm always cleaning up after someone. And he's not even a toddler or kid.

Yeah, that person can probably die in a fire and have to clean up afterwards.

@spiderdust it's okay I just remember I'm moving and then it doesn't matter what happens to him. It's mean I know but I don't feel like I owe him anything.

Another reason I can't work for corporate America. So many dumb interruptions. Usually by management. I am not sure why everyone at this point does not suffer from ADD. I feel your pain.

I don't know how people with kids around 24/7 get ANYTHING done around the house.

I'm not sure either, except that I do put them to work. The oldest boy is actually very good about finding tasks to do, like laundry or taking out the trash/recycling, and often without being prompted. Some of the others have things that they routinely do, and sometimes they'll do other tasks if I give them explicit instructions. The middle three are very good at helping with food prep, like peeling and cutting up 2 lbs of carrots into carrot sticks or making an entire loaf of bread into PBJs, assembly line style.

It happens all the time with me. I hardly get a few minutes of uninterrupted time. It seems everyone around wants a piece of me at the same time.
