Summertime is Carnival Time

Growing up I use to look forward to the summertime as that is when so many carnivals were around. I always loved going to them when I was a kid but I think I enjoyed it more when I brought my kids and then my grandsons.
I loved the smell of the carnivals, especially the cotton candy machine. I could smell that the minute I walked on the carnival grounds.
The other great smells were the popcorn, hot dogs and the waffles.
I had to go on all the rides when I was younger and then taking the younger grandsons on the kiddie rides years later.
Did you go to Carnivals and like anything special?

I don't like the smell of popcorn but I love the smell of cotton candy although it was called fairy floss in Australia. I'm not sure what it is called now although I've seen it often enough. I must take notice next time as to what they call it now.

We don't have Carnival here,but have the similar things such as temple fair bustling with activity.
