Harder to kill

In past centuries it took longer to kill or be killed - and some amount of artistry and skill was needed - especially in a sword fight or when a bow and arrow was used. These days any weakling or very small person can kill someone in seconds when using a gun. In March this year a two- year- old found his parents loaded gun and accidentally shot and killed his one- year-old brother. I can't help but wonder what the world would have been like if the gun had not been invented. What do you think? Would it have been safer for us - in our homes , in our schools and on the streets?

No people would kill with knives, rocks, whatever they could use. It would be harder, up close and personal.

@JohnRoberts There are antidotes . And that would take careful planning - I am thinking about robberies, house invasions, school shootings ,etc.

No I doubt it would have been safer. We are having a terrible problem with knife murders in and around London. Sadly it is mainly young black kids that are the ones that are being murdered. It is terrible!

I read about those some time ago - and I hoped it was a phase which would soon pass. So, it is still happening a lot?

I think there would be still violence and killing but there would be less.

I think so too. The criminal will look for the quickest ,easiest way to do the deed.

No, we wouldn't be safer--we still kill big numbers of people using other 'things': knives, airplanes, trains, cars, bombs, etc., the list is endless. We live in a dangerous world--always have and always will as long as people are involved!

I'm afraid you are perfectly right. This is the world we live in.

I think so too - even though we never can tell what else they might have come up with .
