It sounded like an explosion going off! / myLot

Last night or really around 5 am this morning, we had the worst electrical storm, lightening and thunder and heavy rain that we have had in a long time. There was one blast of thunder that was so loud it shook the house and really sounded like an explosion! We all were awakened. The good thing was that nothing in our house was hit by lightening.. I am very grateful for that.

It must have hit an electrical device that's why it sounded like that. I heard a news that a boy was hit by the lightning while using his cell phone. We must really be careful when there's a lightning.

We had the same last week, I thought it has truck a tree in our garden, but luckily it was not that close.

That really loud thunder is startling. I have heard that a few times. It sounds like the world is coming to an end or something.

A tree or something near you was probably hit by lightening. That is usually when it is loud like that. Glad everything is ok.

That is what happened here with the last thunderstorm. Our house is very close to the water and before the storm actually started the lightning hit that water and there was such a thunderous explosion that since the rain had not come down yet I thought something had really blown sky high but then the rain came and the booms got less loud.
