In an earlier discussion, I mentioned how Kenneth Copeland Ministries latest "Partners-Letter" mentions-&-confirms the old advertising-maxim that--if you hear a statement enough times and you don't consciously correct-or-deny it--you'll believe it. http://www.mylot.com/post/3203483/the-wall-between-believers-skeptics-imagination-the-mind-trick That is what I think the 'Faith cometh by hearing' Scripture-passage is saying. (that 'you will subconsciously believe whatever you hear, so you better make sure it's God's honest truth you're listening-to!') For example: it used to be widely-believed that 'preference' was a choice. Then people proposed that people's preferences were hard-wired into them at birth. That's probably not "the truth"; but people keep 'repeating that story,' making "the subconscious of anyone who hears" think it must be true. (Often, the speaker will use the trigger-word "Science" to make you think 'it's been proven.' Because yes, there have been experiments with the hypothesis "people with a certain genetic-makeup are inescapably 'home-o-sects'." But the results are about as certain as "having a purple rabbit's foot will win you the lottery.") Kenneth Copeland's letter states that--if you immerse yourself in the Holy Bible's text & teachings & in the music & talking of others who believe in the Holy Bible's text & teachings--your success-in-life will stem from that way-of-living. Well duh! If you don't listen to anything else, what you do hear becomes 'all you need to know.' Jesus and/or The Bible (but where else are you going to hear from Jesus? ) even TELL Christians that they'll be scoffed-at for believing 'The Story' over 'present reality we can observe with our senses.'

@ihasaquestion I know you're jk, but ... hmmm ... is it 'descending to their level' if you complain about the complainers' complaining? (the same way they descend to his level by starting with name-calling whenever someone disagrees with them?)
