Summer is flying by way too fast for my tastes, MyLot. Thus my distance recently from the world of MyLot, but I have missed all of you. I think I will review my July on this post, even though we are already a week into August. Wow. I'll start with goals Goal - try 2 new recipes July - 5 new recipes tried. This time only 3 of them were "keepers" - Italian salad, slow cooker spaghetti, and fridge salsa. Goal - Read or listen to 8 books/audiobooks July- 7 books read/listened to. All were very good though. "Invisible" by James Patterson kept you guessing right to the end and had parts that were relayed from both main characters. "Hunger" by Roxane Gay was very touching and made one think about life in a different way, "Dr.Sleep" - King was amazing - the follow up to "The Shining". Goal - 12 exercise "goal" days July - 12 exercise goal days met. And as for my financial goals, well, they flew right out the window. It's ok though. I'll catch up later. I know what I spent on. Lots of meals out (what can I say?) and lots of clothes. See I de-cluttered my closet earlier this year, and now I wanted some cool clothes again. Though right now I'm feeling all caught up. :-D So, in July my dance troupe was in a couple parades, I have been to several concerts at the park which are popular in this area, got to hang out with friends, parents, garden is starting to kick in and be harvestable, However I feel like I sort of over committed myself too by signing up for a class and performance in burlesque, and our bellydance performances. Usually I'm all for it, but I just don't feel up to it right now and I don't know why. Also my houseguest (cat) Bridgette went home a few days ago. It has been lonely ever since. And I'm happy to say that I got out to the fair several times. Entered things, too and got 2 red ribbons and 1 white. How have you been, MyLot? Photo: Pixabay

A busy month you have there! What were the ribbons awarded for? Outdoor concerts are always fun. We have them on the beach where I live. Missed them this time but there's always next season.

Concerts on a beach sound delightful. :-D Do you have a lot of beach areas? The ribbons are for how well done your project is - maybe originality, and composition play into it too. :-)

@FayeHazel Yes our beach is widespread. It stretches about 1.5 miles and links to neighboring beach towns on either side. Here is a photo of the beach area.

Have you thought of adopting a cat?

@FayeHazel not necessarily. My bf has 3 cats. And they're all different ages.

@Courtlynn True - though I don't think this apartment allows more than 1 per unit... and the one I watch hates other animals. :/

Thought of it - though it would mean I couldn't take this one in any more ;-)

That picture is so cute. I like the idea of setting monthly goals. I think I will do this for September. Or... maybe I will set a few for August. Sounds like you did quite a bit and made several of your goals. Good for you.

@FayeHazel I will set mine up for September. I am thinking about creating a bullet journal.

@Shellyann36 Cool! I tried that - I think it's an amazing art form... though I came up with my own type of journal, not exactly bullet - but works for me type of thing. I will be curious how yours works out :-)

@FayeHazel , hi. Missed you too. Yeah, we're heading to spring fast. I speak Afrikaans too, it is a pretty cool language has a lot of Dutch words with some Portuguese and French sometimes though it is called baby dutch. Michael sounds interesting.

@FayeHazel Wow! That's really nice. I used to exhibit crochet and once got 'Best Crochet Exhibit' and my friend got 'Best Knitted Exhibit'. It was pretty exciting.

Well, you did really good. I will check out Invisible, I read Patterson anyways. I am always over booking myself but somehow I get it done.

Glad to hear you've met most of your goals. I feel your pain without Bridgette. I'm not looking forward to the day my son takes his kitties back.
