$15.00 for a piece of silicone?

Yeah, pretty much. Though I shopped around and got the cheapest I could get. Most were upwards of $15.00 without including shipping. I paid $15.85 which includes the shipping. What's the little piece of silicone? Oh, it's a lipbalm filling tray. It essentially holds the lipbalm tubes steady so they can be poured. Here I said I wasn't going to start shopping until tomorrow. I got it on Ebay By the way.

Do you make lip balm at home? I have seen some on Amazon that were around $ 11.00.

I didn't see a silicone tray for $11.00 on amazon last night. I haven't made any yet, but I do intend to do so. I am going to give them as gifts for Christmas. I just need to pick the fragrance and get the beeswax, cocoa butter and a pyrex measuring cup.

@LadyDuck You could melt those bars and pour them into silicone molds and regift them if you were so inclined. I used to buy lipbalm from etsy four tubes for $11.00. It wasn't a bad price considering that was also including shipping. I am thinking of making chocolate orange flavor, pumpkin flavor, and maybe a lemonade flavor lipbalm.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I never thought to make lip balm at home. I have pounds of bar soap leftovers, I am thinking to melt them and see what I can do.

I'm still waiting on the guitar shaped mold. Then I'll start doing soaps again

You got yours through ebay as well didn't you? I think that's where I"ll get most of the molds I'll use to make lotion bars. I have considered trying my hand at shampoo bars as well.

@ScribbledAdNauseum yep. I got two recently from there. It's where i get my oils too. I have the other mold that I ordered already , it's flowers. There are a few others I want to order. But it's gotta wait till I move I think.

Hobby Lobby has a lot of supplies as well. I think I will do more salves and natural herbal things.

Hobby Lobby is a black hole that I would never crawl out of. I think I'll stick with buying my supplies online, I can control myself better.

Oh man, I wouldn't want to pay $15 for it. :-/ I did see your comment to someone else, and I think it's cute that you're going to make lip balm as gifts. :)

@ScribbledAdNauseum Right. Hopefully by the end of it, you'll feel the $15 was worth it. Could be good for other gift-giving occasions, or when you wanna make some lip balm for yourself. :)

I think it will end up being a good investment. Even so, $15.00 seems a bit much.

It will be. It will help me not knock over lip balm tubes when I go to fill them with lipbalms. It's a good investment, I just think it could have been cheaper.
