So, How and Where Did You First Meet Your Better Half or Sweetheart?

Let’s be a bit romantic, this time. I met my husband in the bank where I worked about 31 years ago. So, we became officemates. But my “crush” was the other officemate who also was a new hire like him then. We would all go discoing since we were all singles in the bank then. In other words, my crush has a girlfriend already. My husband would keep joking with me that he would like to change my surname into his. He is a joker. Eventually, I came to like him and we became sweethearts. But after 6 months him and the 2 others, weren’t regularized as employees because they failed in the exam which came later. However, he got another job after that, and he would always fetch me at the office. After about 3 years, we got married. We have one child, now a lady doctor. That’s our love story. What’s yours?

My marriage was an arranged marriage. So our meeting was planned by our parents. Though the first meeting was not that good, we eventually got married and are in deep love since then

Wow, really yours was an arranged one yet you eventually are in deep love since then. So, love can be really taught to two people not in love with one another when they got married. That's a nice love story.

I am the better half. I got the spelling wrong somewhere...should it be bitter half? Blink..kidding. I have not met him physically. When I do, I will bore you with the details.

I met my husband in the office where I was hired. He was the younger associate, very polite even if strict. When he decided to leave the office and open his own office he asked me if I agreed to follow him, I did. At that time I had another boyfriend. Three months after I followed him in his new office he invited me out for lunch and we started dating, six months later we were married... 48 years ago.

When you followed him to his new office, was he a "crush" of yours already? We have almost the same love story. It started as officemates.

@LadyDuck Poor boyfriend of yours. He didn't know you are losing your interest of him already. Could it be because you are beginning to like your husband then?

@SIMPLYD No, not at all, I was still with my boyfriend and I had not yea a crush for him. He was a serious and intelligent man and I liked the idea to work with him. Working together every day made me realize that I had no more interest in my boyfriend.

That is so sweet. I am not with anyone, but I do like someone but I have no idea if it is going to work out, so I'll just give it time. I have known him for shoot I think 7 years now, my gosh and I never seen him in person but he was a friend of my old best friend who moved and introduced us.

So you mean you are friends for 7 year now and since then you have never seen him in person. But I think you communicate online. Well, today is the modern era. You can at least let him feel that you like him. You will never know if he likes you too, if you don't do it.

That is beautiful love story. You are very lucky with him and with your daughter. I remember you posted a discussion on facebook about your lady doctor. I met my boyfriend via a language site. I was studying Spanish and he was studying English that time. Since we only have one time difference, he added me and asked me to help him with his English. We became good friends and later we become serious with our relationship. He visits me everytime he can and if time permits we travel too.

Thank you. I also remember you having a boyfriend from another country and you met him online. It is one nice love story since most of the stories about those who came to know each other through online sites, aren't good. Pray that you will eventually get married.

My husband and I met 14 years ago, introduced through a mutual friend. We talked online a lot and met in person in 2006, 2 years later, when I visited England. We have been close friends the whole time, and liked each other but each too shy to tell the other. When it finally came out a few years ago, we got closer fast and now I'm living 5000 miles from where I grew up and we couldn't be happier.

What a fascinating love story you have. You started as friends and liked each other but was too shy to make know what you both felt. Oh, you miss a lot of time to be sweethearts. But now, I am happy to know you are now with him, so far from where you grew up.

I met my husband on a blind date when I was 14 and he was 17. We didn't date right away, he thought I was too young but evidently true love will find a way. We have been married for 50 years, have 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons.

Awww, that's so sweet and adorable. I met my husband while I had a long time boyfriend. My husband had a party with his roommates and I went. My boyfriend was at college far away, and I didn't like to be alone on weekends. My hubs asked me to go out to hear a piano player friend after his party. The rest is history.

Well actually, mostly, singles who are officemates would end up as sweethearts. Here, in our office, 2 loveteams blossomed. And it all started by matching and teasing them. The other loveteam has been officemates for how many years, but they just became sweethearts lately, because of teasings. They both are loveless for how many years.

I'm not really a romantic person and mine is not special at all. It's something that I don't talk about actually simply because I'm not a romantic. I'm terrible at that, Your husband has a good sense of humour and I think he knew what he wanted for himself and he got it.

I got married over forty years ago. Our families met and arranged a meeting between me and my intended life partner. We spoke for a while and after a couple of days, I gave my consent. I did not meet up with any other girl - siva

@SIMPLYD Marriage is a give and take although some take it as the other gives and they take. I joke that love marriage is love before marriage while arranged marriage is love after! I have also seen couples at each other's throats but have many children! We accept each other for who we are and not try to change the other. It has worked for almost all in my circle of family and friends - siva

I met my hubby through writing. We were pen pals for about 5 years before he visited me. We liked each other and was surprised when he asked my grandfather to marry me before consulting me first. I said yes with the condition to think it over for a year if we still like or love each other. After a year he came and brought me a white cloth for my wedding dress and a ring. We are going to be 40 yrs. married in a few years time. How lucky I am to have him.
