Say you have a friend for a few months and he or she has a particularly bad body odor, what is the best way of going about telling them and encouraging good hygiene on their part?

Just tell your friend how important it is to stay hygienic like in a normal conversation. Goodluck! :)

I think a few months are too many, I would have had a conversation shortly after meeting a smelly person. its true they can't smell themselves after not very long of smelling bad...

Share your idea of good perfume around maybe introducing them about how good is the smell of a fragrance.

Being frank and telling him about it may seem rude so teach him through actions. Let him follow as you lead. For example while brushing your teeth, give him a new toothbrush and let him do the same. After bathing you can give him his water to bathe too, if he is keen enough he will get used to the routine.

Share your hygiene practices in a normal conversation then ask what products are they using. They maybe using a product that's not working for them and yet they are not aware of it. I was smelly way back in college and my friends were not too caring to let me know. I knew it in a very rude way and that made me so depressed.
