It's a Noisy Start To This Day

Good morning/afternoon or evening to all my friends here in the myLot world. It's Thursday and my day is off to a noisy start. The lawn crew is here doing the lawn and every time the mowers come close to the house our little dog Mush goes crazy. She is very protective of her home and barks and barks when they buzz past the windows. She stands guard by the sliding glass doors and watches them closely. Her low growls turn into loud barks when they come close. This is the Thursday ritual here and you would think she'd know by now that we appreciate her diligence in protecting us but her barking gives me a headache. The funny part is she hates loud noises. She runs scared and hides at the least loud sound and thunder makes her shake. Yet, a lawn mower makes her bark. Aside from our noisy start it's fairly quiet now and I'm enjoying my coffee. I paid some bills this morning and got a few things done around the house and now I have to make a doctors appointment and an appointment for a hair cut. I hate making phone calls like this because my time is limited because my daughter takes the car to work so I don't know very far in advance which days she's working. I need my prescriptions refilled and I know the doctor won't refill them without a visit. Aside from that my day ahead looks pretty routine. I finished my book and now trying to decide which one to read next. Now I'm off to see what's happening here..... Hope everyone is having a good day

Our cat hates when the lawn is done too, though all he does is run to another room. Wish they would do ours every week, or at least every 3 weeks instead of the every 4-5 months they seem too. I hope you got your appointment scheduled so you can get those meds.

We will get that noise tomorrow . . . all the gardeners around our house seem to come on Fridays and early - I have to shut the windows early so the kids don't wake up.

@Marilynda1225 I think here, it's ok to start at 7am (I don't know about weekends though).

Thursday is our day for all the noise. They are here by 8am (sometimes earlier which I thought was against the township noise law). It's horrible when you can't sleep due to all that noise isn't it

I go through the same thing when making appointments for my kids. My husband doesn't have a set schedule so it's hard to know when he will be able to take us.

@Marilynda1225 I have to re-schedule quite a bit as well. It's okay though, we make it work. =)

It's frustrating isn't it. I just go with the flow, make the appointments and if it doesn't work out then I have to reschedule. It has to be harder for you with the kids since they need to get in their doctor visits.

I also paid some bills this morning and one of my neighbor is now mowing the lawn. The day has been cooler and quiet, except the lawn mowing.

@Marilynda1225 This is what I think every time that I pay my bills. I have to check because I have the feeling I just paid. The temperature went down even more during the night. Now it is "Swiss" normal.

When I was paying my bills this morning I said to myself "didn't I just pay this?" and here it is a whole month later. We say all the time that the days are flying by but they seem even faster lately. Glad you're having a bit of cooler weather today

Dogs are fun, but they can be a real nuisance sometimes. Our shelter is overflowing..and I do wish I could get a new pet..but things are easy here now with just one pet, and honestly, not sure I could cope with the expense of another one. Plus, the cat would not really be thrilled with another pet. I have invisible fence here..but the electic bill would no doubt take a big jump if I started using it again. Another cat too could present problems. I really think I like the idea of a dog more than the actual dog...

I never thought I'd want a dog never mind two until my daughter moved back home and brought her two pups with her. At first I was reluctant to have dogs but they grew on me and now I can't picture my life without them. They are a lot of company but it's a pain when they need to go out whereas a cat can use the litter box. Our dogs are little so they really aren't much trouble. Since I live in a community they have to be leashed all the time so I can't just open the door and let them out.

I just read Awakened by James Murray . It was really good although a bit preposterous. Usually I don't read sci fi but I caught James Murray (from Impractical Jokers) on tv talking about this book he wrote. I read the synopsis and it intrigued me enough to get it.

@Marilynda1225 I take it the dog is not barking so you cannot tell by that what is going on outside. I hope you and your daughter can get your schedules together so you can make those appointments.

It must be done, but I need ear plugs when the lawn mower starts up. Poor little Mush - let's hope she becomes accustomed to it.

All that lawn mowing is noisy and I hope Mush gets used to it. So far she is annoyed every Thursday when they show up
