Earn Bitcoins Using Your Browser

Do you mine bitcoins using your browser? I've been doing it for a few weeks. If you are trying to get into cryptocurrencies, especially bitcoin, I have been testing both a browser and a browser extension that mine bitcoins. My son has cautioned me about this and like with most of his other tech advice, I ignored him. (Just kidding. ) I weighed his advice carefully but then I dived in. Hey! I'm in my sixties and I've earned my right to live dangerously. I'm not having outstanding results with my tests. But I am able to earn bitcoins. It's possible if I had a more powerful device I might earn more. The main complaint I've heard from users is that it slows down your device. I work around that. What I do is when I'm winding down at the end of the day and I want to watch videos, I'll turn the miner on in one window and watch my videos in another window. That way I'm earning bitcoins while I'm relaxing and entertaining myself. I have found that when I'm doing my online work, my device does tend to slow down if I am also trying to mine bitcoins. Do any of you mine bitcoins using your browser? Do any of you mine bitcoins?

I don't keep important stuff on my computer. Since I have crashed so many desktops and a laptop and lost my files, my daughter gave me one of those "thngamabobs" (I don't know what they're called ... pocket drives or something). She told me to copy my documents to it and save them there.

@cmoneyspinner I make daily backups on an external LAN unit, but I do not want to "burn" my desktop.

@LadyDuck It won't burn down, it is always CD which have to be burn. I mean use slow power, this will keep the PC safe and keep mining. However electricity bills and internet data have to be take care.

I've not heard about this before. I have heard about bitcoins themselves of course but not why someone would mine them. Would it be similar to how people earn Swagbucks while watching videos and games which can then be used to purchase things? How do these bitcoins become yours?

When you reach a certain amount, you withdraw them using your Bitcoin Wallet address. I haven't reached the cash out yet. Whether you use the browser or the browser extension, you just turn it on and go about doing whatever! The thing with me is that it slows down my other online work. So I usually don't turn on the miner until I'm chilling out and watching a movie. People say you can let run while you sleep. But I don't trust that. When I sleep, my laptop also has to go to sleep.

I become interested in bitcoins just recently that is why I stumbled with your topic. I wonder if you were able to cash out now?

I have found various "workarounds" by trading currencies with others who are more active in their cryptocurrency investing. I am a member at different forums and those forums have a virtual currency. Sometimes the member trade or exchange currencies with each other. For my first cash out, I am in a forum where if you earn a certain amount of coins they will let you convert those coins to cash. One member there wanted to increase their cryptocurrency coin pots. We traded. I took cryptocurrencies I claimed and sent them to their cryptocurrency wallet. When they received them they paid me the equivalent in the forum's form currency. When I collected enough of the forum currency I requested a cash-out. There are lots of ways to get creative with financial arrangements. The virtual world has created virtual currencies. I like to think of it this way: The non-fiat currencies are like Monopoly money, only you can convert it into real cash. There are some people who buy goods and services and even real estate using bitcoins. I'm not that advanced. But it's good to know the possibility does exist. P.S. I no longer use my browser to mine cryptocurrency. My laptop is not powerful enough. If you're going to mine you probably need to use a dedicated device.

@cmoneyspinner The thread should be reduced in mining, because if your CPU is driven 100% continuously it will heat up quickly and if you don't use a PC it will be risky in the battery and device.

People say you can run it while you're sleeping, but I don't run anything on my laptop while I'm asleep. I feel like that leaves a door wide open for all kinds of things to happen. I might wake up the next morning and my computer has crashed! I don't trust running a mining process while I'm sleeping. That's out of the question.

Good you are into bitcoin mining, I tried it but it was slow; so I stopped; I am using minim laptop so it is not worth right now. Yet it is better to learn how things go and understand experience.

Yeah. I have a laptop. I open two different browsers and open up a lot of tabs when I'm working and the mining definitely slows things down.

No. I don't mine bitcoins. I don't know how to convert bitcoins in dollars. And I don't bother to earn bitcoins.
