Would you choose to be smart or to be hardworking?

My dad asked me the same question when I was very young. My answer was I wanted to be smart because I will understand that I need to be hardworking at the same time. He disagreed because I only need to choose one. Be smart but lazy or be average but hardworking. I was so young I only understood the point when I started working. There are a lot of people smart enough but too lazy. They keep on relying to other people. I chose to be the average yet hardworking. I was able to earn more and share it to my family. Which one would you pick? To be smart or to be hardworking?

I choose to be smart than hardworking. Being smart has the time to relax than hardworking but average. If you are smart, you can do more with working less. You can work with strategy and efficiently, rather than hardworking but doesn’t work efficiently. I work smart than working hard.

The net is full of such either / or questions. No idea why. Life isn't only either / or. There are shades in between.

@moichan So the many either / or questions one can find on the net show me that the writers haven't reached the stage of maturity yet ?

This is actually a part of child development psychology. No in-between answer is allowed.

@MALUSE oh no. That's not what I meant. The question is like I'm asking if what color would you prefer, yellow or blue? And you keep on answering green. So the question did not serve it's purpose. You're perception is waaaayyyy beyond on what I'm trying to share. I was hoping that maybe parents or guardians here would use the same concept to their child because it actually helped me a lot.

Oh, and one more thing: relying on others does not sound like a nice thing to do. It sounds as if you are trying to work less and make others that have the same function as you to work more to cover your laziness.

I think you probably have the right idea. I don't like the idea of being lazy although I know I am sometimes.

Overworking can have a great toll on anyone. We have the right to be lazy at some point, it's called recharging. Lol. I know some people being lazy 24/7 for most of their lives.

Smart I guess. By being smart you can think of a lot of ways to earn money and since you are lazy yet smart you also can think of ways to manipulate people. People who are hard working. Let them do the work. Let them make you rich. But you also need to give back to the lessfortunate and be fair and kind to everyone. Just explain to them that uou are smart yet lazy that isnwhy you need their man power to be rich yet every penny is split fairly.

The smart ones often get ahead. I'm more of a hard worker. But I've slacked lately because I realized the health costs due to stress and exhaustion is not worth it.

That's the toll we need to pay eventually. We need a special type of multivitamins if there's one available. Lol.
