Very good concert despite being shortened

I remember it well. It was the summer of 1986. I forget the exact month. I was dating a guy, (who thinking about it now, I should have never gone out with), it was in Atlanta Georgia and he asked me out to go to Piedmont Park to see John Denver in an outdoor concert. We got there and it was full of people. It was an outdoor amphitheater. It had a stage and concrete benches. There was also some grassy patches where some people were sitting. The concert started and I think John Denver sang about 3 or 4 songs, (forget now which songs), when all of a sudden there was thunder and the bottom fell out of the sky. It was a torrential downpour where we all got drenched! John Denver announced how he would be back at another time to continue with the concert, that no one would lose their money etc. But, I was taking Summer Courses at my College in another city and the time he would be back did not correspond with my schedule. So, even though I did not get to see the whole John Denver concert, the little bit that I did see was very special. It even meant more after his untimely death.

What a shame your concert got washed out. That is always the worry with our outdoor concerts. We've been very lucky so far and just had a couple of really cold nights but no rain.

Yes, any kind of out door event has to contend with the weather.
