My new passion is working with concrete to create garden ornaments like pots and other decorations. Pictured above is a garden bowl made using the sandcasting method. I bought a large elephant ear plastic leaf and used that to make the pattern. Instructions came from a book I got as a gift many years ago. Making concrete ornaments is not as difficult as it may seem an is so much fun. My next project is making different types of garden stepping stones. Have you ever worked with concrete? Do you make garden ornaments?

That looks really nice. How did you colour it? I'm sure it's fun.

There is color you can buy just for concrete. A small bottle goes a long way.

@Freelanzer Thanks. Are you doing them just for yourself?

@JudyEv Once I get comfortable making them, I would need an outlet for the excess so I won't rule out selling and gifts of course.

It is so beautiful; the leaf bowl. Doing such ornaments is really fun! I tried to make concrete stepping stone so I can walk barefoot on it for health reasons too!

More of those should decorate your garden wonderfully.

I've never attempted anything like that but it's really an interesting hobby. Your leaf is really pretty and hope you'll continue to share your creations.

Yes thanks I will. This is the second attempt. In the first I used a coarser concrete so it looked a bit rougher. This one I used more of a sandy concrete mix which is much easier to work with.
