Some time ago I posted a comic short story in several parts which some enjoyed. So I thought I’d share another with you. This was also written as a monologue so you have to pretend someone is talking to you. Vince has performed it several times at various functions. I’m worried that it might be hard to understand as it is written as an ‘Ocker’ might speak English but I guess I’ll soon find out. It is a total of about two thousand words so I’ll split it into shorter portions.
The photos will be whatever takes my fancy.
Black Sunday
G'day. I was having a beer with a mate the other day and his 40th wedding anniversary is coming up. Karen and I, we're coming up 43 years. You only get 20 years for murder. It hasn't all been beer and skittles but here we are 43 years on. Talking to me mate reminded me of a very bad day I had a few years after we married. I'll tell it about it if you like – even if you don't like, seeing you're all stuck here.
Ever had a day when you should have stayed in bed? Not even surfaced? This Sunday was like that. A really bad day - none of it my fault. Karen had been away a week with a friend. Now – I’m no good on my own. I admit it. I might be a decent provider and I’m a great lover but I’m not much good on my own.
Anyway off she went. Left me a very detailed list. But I lost the list the next day – I think it went into the wash with my red T-shirt, which went into the wash with the white sheets but that’s another story. At that stage, I hadn’t read the list at all. Once I lost it I didn’t know what I was supposed to be doing so I hadn’t done anything much.

@JudyEv I have to read the other parts. I am shocked by the news, a big bridge on a highway has collapsed in Italy. We have crossed that bridge hundred of times coming from Monte-Carlo to Italy and then Switzerland. I never liked that very long bridge, I am so sorry for all those who have lost their life.

@LadyDuck I haven't heard that news. I'm so sorry. But how fortunate you weren't on the bridge when it collapsed. There never seems to be any warning with these disasters. We watched some days ago a huge mud slide in Switzerland. It was on FB perhaps. I don't know if any lives were lost.

I have a feeling that somebody is in a mess of trouble.

Oh, wow! He's already causing trouble and, apparently, didn't realize it!
I did like "You only get 20 years for murder." I'[m thinking we should black mail him with that sentence! Do you think he'd pay up?
