Hello everyone. No, it's not me, But my husband. After we got married and we still lived in his parent's house, we often ate out before going home from office. Up to this day, he does not like his mother cooking. According to him, his mom cooks like when you eat in cafeteria where there is less quality of the food. (Bad hubby) Last Friday, my mother in law was here to be with my youngest since he had a slight fever and I have to go elsewhere. I also asked her to cook for dinner since I will not be back in time to cook. My husband ate the dish leftover we had from Thursday. Good thing my mother in law did not saw him. It would be very awkward.

I'm fortunate my mom was a great cook but she was too busy to cook for us back then. We had the maids to cook for us but it was closely supervised by my grandmother who was also a great cook. My mom was a nutritionist. She graduated in the Philippine Women's College but I guess, she really had a skill in cooking.

oh nice! At least the maids were closely supervised. My hubby's grandma used to cook for them in their younger years, she was a home economics teacher so she is good in cooking too.

Every time I go to my mother's house, I cook. Because I don't think the food cooked by my mom is delicious. It is obvious that her taste is already the taste of old people.

At least it is your mom, you hubby does not grow up with her. During the younger years of my husband I was told that the one who cooked for them was their grandma whom is home economics teacher.

It should have been that your hubby should have told her mother that her cooking isn't good. At least, her mother will ask what's wrong so she can improve it. It's sad that it's that way with the two of them, when most of the children likes their mother's cooking. Our daughter is so proud of my kare-kare.

That is nice to hear with your case. In my hubby's case his grandma used to cook for them and she is really good in cooking. When her mom started cooking, he was in late high school or college so he does not stay in the house too much to eat what she cooks.

My mom hates to cook, she usually cooks dish that She would eat. But one time I asked her to cook pasta and she did. I merely commented how salty the red sauce was and she never cooked pasta again

I think, he must be honest to her mother so that she can improve her cooking style. There are times that there are foods that are not appealing and tastes good to us and out of respect we eat as to not to offend the person cooking. For me, it's always good to have someone to cook for us and I think that we can always offer some tips on the area that needs to be improve.

Oh no. We cannot do that as she is not one person who can accept other person's criticism. She is one sensitive mom.

@rakski : Sorry to hear that. I don't know how your husband managed that for so long. If I would be in a situation like that, I should have tell my mother even if she would get disappointed at me. I hope he and his mother would be okay.

Poor mom, how did he eat all these time before he was even able afford to buy himself dinner? I sometimes do not like what my mom cooked but most of the time her dishes are really tasty and good too. if she cooked with too much sauce or water, we will just reheat and have the excessive water reduced and the dish is okay already. =)

His grandmother used to be the queen of the kitchen when they were growing up. His mom started cooking late in his high school and when he was in college, he can already eat out before going home.

Great for you. I think one of the reason is because my mom in law cook 'just to cook' and not really liking to cook. She is oblige so they will have something to eat. I remember when we were newly married, my mom in law was telling my grandma that she does not like to cook anymore. She is more of someone who will supervise someone with cooking
