Long Lost Family, a great tv show to watch that can help many people

I have been watching Long Lost Family since it started airing on television a few years ago. It is about people that are trying to find their birth parents and some are about the parents trying to find their children. Some of these people are young but many of them are older. There are parents looking for children they gave up for one reason or another when they were born. On the other hand, some of the stories are about children looking for their birth parents. Some people think that parents that give up their children are so terrible but this show will give people a different opinion. The man and woman that are the narrators were adopted themselves and inspired this show as they had a hard time looking for their own birth parents. I think everyone that has any questions about this should watch it as it answers many questions. Be prepared to have the tissue box handy as some of them are so emotional. You just might realize that things are not always as they seem. It is a great series and on TLC. I know many places have different times that this is on tv but I hope people will look for this show.

It is amazing and sometimes a real tear jerker especially when families are reunited. Some people are so quick to judge others about giving children up etc but there are so many true reasons. Bring a tissue box with you on the couch when you watch it. I think it is coming on again this season soon.

Certainly there are many genuine reasons why some people have had to give up their children. It sounds an interesting program.

It really is a great show and I hope that some people that are struggling trying to find answers will watch it. Even if they get one clue about where to start looking can be a big help.

+@JudyEv That is great. I don't know of anyone that was adopted. I use to drive my mother crazy when I was young and asked her if I was adopted. I must have heard someone tell me they were adopted. ++++++++ This is an after thought as I do know someone that was adopted but never knew it all through school. I saw him everyday and never knew anything but a few of our friends did know it. I am still friends with him and he has mentioned it a few times just in a conversation.

I like tv shows like that too, since it is really hard to be apart from your family. It would be such a blessing to see them again

I have never watched that show. When my two youngest adopted adult kids wanted to find their birth mother I was behind them 100%. That did not end good. The mother wanted nothing to do with them. The step father invited them in to meet their sisters and brother. They were grilling outside when their birth mother came home from work. She told them to leave and her husband said you leave they are spending the night they want to know their siblings. She had nothing to do with them the whole night and they left being able to call their siblings.

At least part of the time they were able to friend their siblings. People are so ready to judge others without knowing the story or the feelings involved. That show is so good as I am sure there are many people out there looking for their families. If the show helps just one family, that is a good thing.

She must have had a very bad experience with the natural father of them to react that way. A very good friend of mine had a baby years ago and she was from a very old fashioned Italian family. They sent her away to a home across the country so no one would find out. After she had the baby he was given to someone that had a home for him. She came back and acted like nothing happened and never wanted to talk about it.

@ramapo17 May be, I am not a big fan of the television, I watch a movie before going to bed and this is all the time I spend in front of the TV.

I've watched this show a few times, thanks to a celeb mentioning it 1-2 years ago on twitter. I loved it the second I started watching it, but it is also hard for me to watch - as a birth parent. As some have no choice but to give up their rights, like I did.. and not everyone wants to know their birth parents / family. and that scares me - with the case of my daughter. So I haven't really watched it since.. but I might try to soon.

Ohhh, I sit there with 2 tissue boxes next to me. These are all true stories and most of them do end up happily but occasionally some do not. Some of the reasons for this is the parents were very young and had no idea what was going on and others just wanted to experience what life was about.

@ramapo17 I can understand. There is a show like that here as well. They are based on true stories. Really heart wrenching. I sometimes watch them when I'm in a good mood.
