I Am On A Genealogy High Right Now

Hi Everyone. I was at a Genealogy Conference Thursday to Saturday in Newton which is a Boston suburb. It was called Celtic Connections and concentrated on Irish, Scottish, and Welsh topics. I took a mix of Irish and Scottish classes. I have been doing genealogy for over 30 years and I do know a lot but every time I go to one of these I come home with some kind of a new idea.
And it has paid off, today I found something I have been looking for for years. My great grandmother's sister's marriages. So exciting, I actually need to look at my DNA matches and see if one of the names I found actually comes up among my matches.
So sorry I haven't been around but when I get in the genealogy zone I am rather obsessed.

I have just been helping a friend with her Irish one, it was lots of fun and I actually have found a lot more than I expected.

Yes that is one thing most of us don't do, interview the oldest people in our family while we still have them.

Genealogy isn't something I ever got into but you make it sound so interesting. Maybe I should consider it

Of course, the problem with Irish genealogy is that most of the records no longer exist so it does make it hard to get back very far.

Rewarding in a personal sense for sure. I love knowing I have family floating out there around the world
