I heard my aunt earlier that one of our neighbor's son who happens to be a gay stole money and a mobile phone from someone he doesn't know.
The person said that the boy ransacks their store and steal those. The store was lock and didn't even know where did the boy get the key.
How did they know?
The store owner installs a CCTV camera inside their store.
And the boy doesn't know about it.
They are looking for the boy. And it's not the first time it happens.
Someone also reported the boy stealing money from a fruit stand.
I remember seeing the boy a month ago, he has a new phone. I wonder if that is the phone he stole.
I wonder why the boy did that?
Is it because the Mother is not very attentive to the needs of his kid.
I don't know why he needs to steal when in fact his parents can afford to buy him what he wants.
What can you say about this?

The boy has developed the bad habit of stealing. He will be punished for that, sooner or later.

I think there is a condition for it. They need to find that boy and arrest him or take him to DSWD if he's a minor.

if the mother is not attentive to her son's needs, and the son did steal, maybe the son did that to get attention from his parents? since you said the parents are well-off.
or it could be a case of kleptomania?

the lack of attention can indeed trigger a child to steal. However, over-indulgence will also make the child unable to hold back.
Steal behavior in children of primary school age is usually caused by a lack of control because parents always grant the child's wishes. As a result the child does not learn that he cannot always get whatever he wants. In older children, aged 10 years and over, this behavior can arise due to challenges or sensations.

I had friends stealing, but what they stole had little value. Stealing a phone is another story.
It sounds like he could be a kleptomaniac.
Stealing gives thrills, it can really turn into an addiction and it isn't about the money.
Teens do stupid things to have fun most of the time.

Maybe they just seem to be rich. Most neighbors won't show to others or tell their real situation.
