Am Afraid to Eat in Some Fastfoods

Recently saw a post of a relative about a customer who had eaten "siopao" (steamed bun with meat in it) but it was filled with something they could not recognize but it looks hairy! The customer said he and his wife were so hungry that they decided to buy that steamed bun in a corner street. He said he felt something in his mouth he could not chew, so he spit it on a napkin and saw something like a patch of skin with hairs resembling an eyebrow! The food attendant said he did not know about it and said the buns were supplied to the store and it is only steamed in their kiosk when customer order it. So the supplier is the culprit; they should see to it that their food is being prepared with utmost care and tidiness! It is better to eat at home or in reliable restaurants!

Finding a hair in your food at a restaurant is pretty bad. Finding a patch of fur is a whole nother level of eww!

@acelawrites It would lead to a great deal of bad publicity here as well as a visit from health inspectors.

@koopharper I agree, it should be investigated and closed by sanitary inspectors. I know your country is strict in implementing such.

It is a big "sin" on the part of those preparing it!

It is a kiosk by the roadside! But the one manning it said the "siopao" is being delivered to them and they just steam it. They do not know what could be inside or if it is contaminated.

Hello @acelawrites This is why you shouldn't eat in the kiosk. I don't even buns at 7-11 or not much. Better off settling it with biscuits.

Whew, and my husband likes the siopao at 7-11! I co not like eating siopao, if really hungry, I only eat the white bread part, not the filling because I always remember the joke that it is "meow-pao!" (sound of a cat!).

Poor souls. I can't imagine the level of disgust he must have felt. The worst one I experienced was a tiny broken glass. I thought it was my teeth because I was pregnant and pregnancy will weaken your bones and teeth.

That's really a nightmare! Some food companies/food suppliers must adhere to strict standards when it comes to food safety/cleanliness.

There are really these instances when eating outside your home even in a trusted food chains and restaurants. I think, it's in the meat. Sometimes, it's difficult to recognize foreign objects especially if the meat are grounded.

It is really hard to see if there are "foreign" ingredients in it!
